Caring for Dentures

Dentures are fragile and require maintenance. You must not let them dry out because they will crack or lose their shape.

• When you are not wearing them, keep them in a liquid denture cleanser. Soaking dentures in hot water can cause deformation.
• You need to brush your dentures daily with a soft denture brush to keep them clean.
• You must always brush your gums and tongue before inserting your dentures.
• Keep your dentures out at night to prevent opportunistic infections occurring as the protective action of your saliva is reduced when you are sleeping
